The Odessa Jackalopes announced on Monday that Todd Watson will take over as head coach of the team.

Watson brings more than 11 years of coaching experience to the Jacks, and was most recently a scout for the Dallas Stars.

Prior to working for the Stars, he spent five seasons as the head coach for the Saginaw Spirit, a member of the Ontario Hockey League.

Watson also coached the OHL’s Plymouth Whalers and the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors.

“His experience and success in junior hockey speaks volumes and we are excited to move forward with him at the helm as we enter a new era for our organization,” said Jackalopes owner Adam Doyle in a press release.
