According to Iraan-Sheffield ISD superintendent Michael Meek, Iraan head football coach and athletic director Mark Kirchhoff has announced he is retiring.
Meek said Friday afternoon he has not formally received a resignation from Kirchhoff. When he does, he can post the job open for applications. Therefore, there is no timeline set yet for the next coaching hire.
Kirchhoff coached Iraan for the past six seasons with a 62-15 overall record. His team made the state finals in 2016 after that senior class completed a 40-game regular-season win streak.
