ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar) – Active cases have risen significantly this week in Ector County, according to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
On Wednesday, Texas DHHS reported 317 active cases, that number has grown to 748 active Coronavirus cases in Ector County.
Additionally, 264 COVID related deaths have been reported. Texas HHS is reporting more than 6,500 confirmed cases along with 5,606 probable cases for a total 12,122 cases in Ector County.
Earlier this week, Dr Jinadu with the Ector County Health Department explained that they are now reporting their numbers directly to the state and a local dashboard is not being updated.
The Texas DHHS is reporting over 3,500 doses of the Coronavirus vaccine have been administered in Ector County.
Medical Center Hospital says they are expecting 3,900 doses of the Coronavirus vaccine on Monday. Additionally, they are expecting to receive the same amount weekly.
A pre-registration form is now on the MCH website. MCH is working with the City of Odessa to setup a drive-thru vaccination site at Ratliff Stadium however, times and dates for that event have not yet been set.
