ODESSA, TX (KMID/ KPEJ) — Restaurant back open after salmonella outbreak.

The popular Mexican restaurant Ajuua’s in Odessa is back in business after a salmonella outbreak.

The restaurant temporarily shutdown after Ector County confirmed two cases of people contracting salmonella and at least 20 others being deemed as probable from Ajuua’s.
Workers are now making cleanliness and food handling a top priority.
The owner of the restaurant, Julian Rubio, is now taking preventative measures.
“The first thing we’ve done is taken more precaution, by precaution I mean more careful with food handling and we’re getting the people more educated,” Rubio said.
The cause of the outbreak is still under investigation.
