Griffis asking residents to show support through Sheriff’s Association of Texas membership

Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis is asking residents to show their support by joining the Sheriff’s Association of Texas.

Residents may receive a letter in the mail regarding membership to the organization. Officials at the ECSO say the letter is legitimate and memberships could play a key role in supporting the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.

Memberships start as low as $25 and $100 for businesses. The funding then provides technical resources, training and legislative support on criminal justice issues, according to a release.

“With government funding becoming increasingly difficult to secure, the membership drive has taken on greater importance than ever before,” Sheriff Griffis said in a statement. “The funding is vital to helping us carry out our missing of making our communities safer places to live, work and play.”
