MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Young scholars in the area are being called to learn more about where they come from in the West Texas Living History Camp this summer.
Hosted by the George W. Bush Childhood Home and Midland Texas Historical Society, the camp will feature lessons on the native history of West Texas, the Spanish involvement in West Texas, Texas Independence, presidential history and oil history.
Furthermore, instructors will bring in guest speakers as well as artifacts to give a more in-depth approach to the camp.
Students 8-12 years old are encouraged to sign up. The camp will begin on Saturday, June 1.
