Fund set up for family of Alpine Fire Chief

ALPINE, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Almost a week ago, the Alpine Fire Department lost one of their own.

Chief Mark Scudder was rushed to the hospital and later died at Medical Center Hospital, according to reports from the Alpine Fire Department.

City officials say Scudder was a staple in the Alpine community for decades and will be missed by many.

Many are still mourning the loss and are searching for ways to show their appreciate and assist his family.

In doing so, a GoFundMe has been set up to benefit the Scudder family. In just a few days, the fund has already surpassed $4,000.
