You read that correctly. Today is free pancake day at IHOP locations across the country.
From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. customers can drop by their local restaurant for a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes.
It is a sweet deal, but the goal is even sweeter.
During free pancake day, IHOP will spread awareness on organizations like the Children’s Miracle Network who rely on fundraisers to provide live saving treatment, equipment and more to kids in the U.S. and Canada.
As such, during free pancake day guests are asked to make voluntary donations to help children treated at Medical Center Hospital, according to a release.
Since 2006 the day has raised about $24 million.
In addition to the voluntary donations, “Miracle Balloons” will also be available for $1 and $5 to benefit CMN Hospitals.
