Fort Hancock man killed in crash

MARTIN COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A 55-year-old man from Fort Hancock was killed following a crash Tuesday afternoon in Martin County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers were called to the crash around 2:17 p.m. Tuesday on FM 829, about 10 miles northwest of Stanton.

While investigating, troopers learned the driver of a semi-truck failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of FM 829 and CR 3100 and collided with another semi-truck, according to the report.

Officials say Adolfo Soto-Perez, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and the driver of the first semi-truck, Gerardo Cano-Flores, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
