ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/FOX 24) – The youngest victim of the mass shooting was a 17-month-old girl at the time. Anderson Davis is now two years old. Her family hit a stoplight at 42nd Street and JBS Parkway in Odessa when the gunman fired.
Shrapnel hit Anderson in the chest and mouth. Her twin brother, Rhet, was right next to her when it happened. Anderson’s family says they are grateful to live in an area where people are united.
“I would not have wanted to live through that tragedy in any other community, because this was a community that supported us from the second it happened. This is a community that pulled over and stopped their cars and ran into the sound of gunshots to help us,” said Kelby Davis, Anderson’s mom.
The family attributes their faith in helping them move forward. We’ll have in-depth stories with the family on Monday.
