The UTPB Baseball Team’s season came to an end last week in the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
The Falcons fell to Cameron in the first round of the tournament. The 9-0 Aggie victory put an end to UTPB’s season last Thursday. The conference tournament was single elimination.
Head Coach Brian Reinke had said before the game that he believed whichever team scored first would probably win the game.
And he was right.
Cameron scored eight out of its nine runs in the first three innings of the ballgame.
Reinke said he thought his team would have faired better in a three game or four game series because of pitching deficits on UTPB’s end.
Regardless of how the season ended, UTPB still finished the season with an 11-13 conference record- its best LSC record since 2015.
Reinke said he thinks the team’s chemistry had a lot to do with the team’s success this season.
“This was one of the teams in recent memory that sort of took things and ran with it,” he said.
