Tom Crowe has resigned as Superintendent of Ector County ISD.

The ECISD Board of Trustees officially accepted his resignation on Tuesday night during their regularly scheduled meeting.

Trustees voted 4-3 to accept the resignation of Crowe and will pay him for the remainder of the year.

His resignation is effective Sept. 1, according to a release from the district, but Crowe will be available as a consultant for the district through December.

Crowe announced in May that he would retire at the end of the year. He pledged to stay with the district until December.

Trustees also voted to appoint Jim Nelson as interim superintendent.
