Driver charged following fatal crash in Midland County

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (Nexstar)- A man has been arrested after a crash that left one person dead Sunday.

Armando Gonzalez Jr., 26, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The victim, a passenger in the car, has been identified as Noemi Gomez, 28, of Midland.

Troopers responded to a crash at West County Road 140 and South County Road 1200 around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a release.

Gonzalez was heading east on CR 140 when he disregarded a stop sign and drove through the intersection. He lost control of his car and crashed into a dumpster and a fence, according to a crash report obtained from DPS.

Troopers responded to a crash at West County Road 140 and South County Road 1200 around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a release.

Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gonzalez was booked into Midland County Jail.
