ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the victims involved in a fatal crash Wednesday in West Odessa and provided more details.

Troopers were called to the crash around 11:48 a.m. Wednesday morning at FM 3472 and North Avenue I.

Officials say the driver of a Toyota Avalon, Joseph Payne, made an unsafe lane change while heading west on FM 3427.

The Avalon then collided with a Cadillac driven by Tyrice Lowery, according to the report.

Officials say after the initial collision, Payne lost control of the vehicle and rolled before colliding with a utility pole.

Payne and a passenger in the Avalon, Hunter Miller, were transported to Medical Center Hospital and were later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

A third passenger in the Avalon, Megan Cantrell, was also taken to MCH with incapacitating injuries, according to the report.

Lowery and a passenger in the Cadillac, Veronica Rodriguez, were also transported to MCH with non-incapacitating injuries.
