MIDLAND, Texas (YourBasin) – The Permian Basin Water In Energy Conference is wrapping up with their final day. Panelist from four different universities came to discuss the innovations in science and engineering when conserving water. Panelist Mike Hightower came from New Mexico State University
“We were invited to come out to talk about produced water and the produced water research that New Mexico State is involved in and managing for the state of New Mexico,” says Hightower.
Hightower says that the main goal is to use less fresh water resources as possible, keeping that resources around a lot longer.
“Then we are saving a long term sustainable supplies of water for the future,” says Hightower.
The Water In Energy Conference has announced tentative dates for next years conference being February 23rd through the 26th.
