Digital Exclusive: Siri answers questions about COVID-19 symptoms


YourBasin – Siri, Apple’s handy dandy assistant on Apple products, can answer questions regarding COVID-19 symptoms and determines if medical services are needed for you.

To begin the process, users simply ask Siri, ‘do I have COVID-19 symptoms?’

From that point on, questions can be answered with yes, no, or not sure then determines whether to seek medical attention or not. For example, Siri may recommend for you to seek medical attention or provide an option for you to call 911 if you are experiencing a dry cough that is life-threatening.

The service may also remind users to remain vigilant for symptoms, such as fever, dry cough, or trouble breathing, and is remind them to separate from others if experiencing these symptoms.

Not only does Siri answer symptomatic questions, but continues to remind users to wash hands, practice social distancing, and provides a list of recommended telehealth apps if you are not able to leave your house.
