Digital Exclusive: City of Odessa wants recycling feedback

ODESSA, Texas (YourBasin) – Do you currently recycle? If so, what would you do to improve the service? The City of Odessa encouraging citizens to complete their recycling survey to learn the habits of citizens recycling and how the approach recycling.

Citizens have also voiced their opinion about curbside recycle pickup. The survey asks for opinions and if they would be able to pay a small fee for the pickup.

“Keep Odessa Beautiful is having a campaign this year that is focusing on each part of the recycling cycle: reducing, reusing, re-purposing, and recycling. That way when you get to recycling, it’s not that much to recycle,” says Claudia Ortega, executive director for Keep Odessa Beautiful.

Ortega knows that people talk how there are ways to grow but says getting feedback from citizens, and the potential curbside recycle pickup, could help cut down more on illegal dumping.

“We have seen so much improvement in the couple of years of people illegally dumping. We are still trying to get the word out there about our drop off location where people can bring their bulk items. That has actually decreased our illegal dumping by providing that service for free, at no cost, for our citizens,” says Ortega.

To take this survey you can visit the city of Odessa Facebook page, Keep Odessa Beautiful Facebook page, or you can click here.
