KERMIT, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A community meeting, meant to inform and educate the public on a new refinery coming to Winkler County, will take place next week.
On July 16, Meridian Energy Group will host a community informational session to explain what the Walton Station Refinery will be and what it will bring to the community.
Meridian Energy announced the refinery project back in February, saying it will be a full-conversion crude oil facility with a throughput capacity of about 58,000 bpd, according to a release from the company.
The refinery is expected to create about 100 new jobs and would take about three years to complete.
The informational session will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 16 at the Kermit Community Center, 200 N. Polar St.
