CITY: Pavement depression caused by age, corrosion

MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The cause has been determined in a pavement ‘depression’ that has closed lanes in the City of Midland.

According to city officials, the depression on Mockingbird Lane was caused by age and corrosion to a corrugated metal storm drain pipe. The age and corrosion led to damage causing storm water to leak from the pipe under the roadway.

Now that the cause has been identified, repairs can begin.

City officials say the Transportation Department is working to repair the pavement depression as soon as possible.
