Chris Woodward Adjusts To First Spring Training As Rangers Manager

News

The Texas Rangers are entering their first spring season under new manager, Chris Woodward.

The organization hired Woodward last October, shortly after firing former manager Jeff Bannister.

Woodward has spent some time with the team, but this is his first time stepping on a field with the entire group of players.

Several of the players say the atmosphere has changed dramatically.

“He’s very good at communicating. He kind of takes the weight off our shoulders,” said outfielder Delinso Deshields.

Woodward said that communication with his assistance coaches specifically will be crucial this season.
