ODESSA, TEXAS (Big 2/ Fox 24)- After more than 25 years of practice native Midlander David Rogers has decided to put his hat in the ring for the 142nd District Court Judge.
“I’ve done 135 trials, 300 bench trials, and over 100 appeals. So I believe with my background I can hear a majority of any type of case,” he says.
According to Rogers, less than 1% of Attorneys in Texas are Certified in Criminal Law and it’s this Certification that he says sets him apart from the other candidates.
“The majority of the time spent by the court are on criminal cases and I believe I have the broadest background and brought the most experience to handle the criminal caseload and civil caseload.”
If elected Rogers says he will strictly interpret the law, and deliver tough sentences to those convicted of a crime.
“I have handled breaches of contracts, car wreck cases, collection cases, the majority of civil trial just about any type of civil trial cases I’ve handled. If it’s a civil case I’m ready on day one to start hearing cases because I’ve tried so many cases and I’m in the courthouse every week.”
