The Border Patrol Agent who lost her life Saturday evening while on duty has been identified.
She was United States Border Patrol Agent Donna Doss, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan.
Doss served for nearly 16 years for the Border Patrol before she died. She was from Class 569.
Doss was killed when she was struck by a vehicle just west of Abilene. DPS said a pedestrian was struck at about 8:15 p.m., on the south service road of I-20 near mile marker 276, between Tye and Merkel.
The crash remains under investigation. Information as to the person who hit her was not immediately released.
An outpouring of support and prayers has already started on social media.
“Ed and I send our condolences and prayers to this agent’s family and the law enforcement community,” tweeted State Senator Dawn Buckingham.
