BIG SPRING, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Big Spring Police are investigating more than 20 auto burglaries and stolen vehicle cases since Sept. 8, according to a release Monday.

IN total, officials say they have responded to 26 auto burglaries and 20 stolen vehicle reports. In many of the cases, weapons were taken from vehicles.

Thus far, police officials say they have arrested four juveniles in the case and an 18-year-old identified as Carlos Gonzales. However, they suspect the same group of kids and adults to be apart of the spree.

Police say 18-year-old Jayden Gutierrez has also been arrested in the case.

The suspects, according to the release, are targeting unlocked vehicles prompting police to encourage residents to keep their vehicles locked and to ensure no valuable items are left inside of their cars.

Police anticipate several arrests in the case as the investigation continues.
