Big Bend fire now 80 percent contained

BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK (Nexstar)- The South Rim Fire in Big Bend National Park has not grown since late last week and is now 80 percent contained.

Hotspots are still active in some areas and crews will continue to monitor the fire, according to a release.

The Chisos Mountains area of the park is still closed. This includes the Basin Road, Lodge, Campground and several trails.
