Labor Day weekend is finally here, and so are the sales. To find the best deals, we needed to “Ask the Experts.”
Our expert for deals this three-day weekend is Sara Skirboll. She’s a shopping expert for RetailMeNot with 15 years of experience working in the retail, fashion, and beauty industry. You may recognize her on GMA, CNN, The View, and Wendy, to name a few. She says you can save money this weekend, but you have to do some research and know where to look to find the best deal.
“Deals are both online and in-store. Even if you don’t find a sale that you are looking for in the store, there is usually a cashback incentive online where you can earn money while you spend.”

This month, Skirboll said, is not the best time to buy electronics or top toys. You’ll want to wait for Cash Back Day November 5th, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday for electronics. For toys, they typically go on sale during November and early December.
“Wait 24 hours. Don’t fall victim to impulse buys. After doing diligent research and price comparing, give yourself some time before making the purchase. Pro tip: add items to your cart and abandon them for a day and retailers oftentimes will send promo codes and exclusive offers to encourage you to checkout. You can also use a browser extension like RetailMeNot Deal Finder to automatically find deals and cashback offers on the items you are purchasing.”
