ANDREWS, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A 20-year-old Andrews man was killed following a crash east of the city Saturday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Troopers were called to the crash around 4:56 a.m. Saturday morning on State Highway 115, about three miles east of Andrews.
While investigating, troopers learned that David Mendiola crossed the center line in the road in a GMC pickup and collided partially head-on with a semi-truck, according to the release.
Mendiola was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the report reads. Officials say the driver of the semi-truck, Yasmany Gonzales Rodriguez, sustained non-incapacitating injuries in the crash.
