PRESIDIO, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Border Patrol agents located and arrested 17 immigrants believed to be in the country illegally earlier this week.
According to a release from the U.S. Border Patrol, agents were conducting routine patrols near Presidio when they noticed signs of immigrants near the Rio Grande River.
Agents followed a foot sign through the canyons until they came upon 17 people who were all in the U.S. illegally, according to the release.
The immigrants were citizens of Guatemala and Mexico, Border Patrol officials say.
