A New Leader in the Eagle's Nest

PECOS, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - Thursday, Pecos High School welcomed a new member to their convocation.

Chris Jones, former head coach at Giddings High School near Austin, was selected to take the helm at Pecos High School.

Jones was approved to take over as the school's athletic director and head football coach on Thursday night by the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD Board of Trustees.

Jones will replace former coach, now principal, Chris Henson who led the Eagles for 12 years.

Henson stepped down as the head coach back in November and the search began immediately for his replacement.

Jones will head to Pecos after earning a 51-29 record at his former school.

And, he will have his hands full. Barring realignment changes, the district saw several teams make post-season runs in the past years.
