"2018 Was a Banner Year"

High Sky Children's Ranch

MIDLAND, Texas (BIG2/FOX24) - High Sky Children's Ranch, now going on its 56th year, opened its doors in 1963.
Since then, Executive Director, JaLynn Hogan, says it has only grown over the years.

"I don't think Joan Nobles could've, in her wildest dreams, imagine from those little five ranchers that we would now be serving over 2,045 children and families in the Permian Basin," said Hogan.

While High Sky has reached many milestones, Hogan says, "2018 was a banner year."

She says its top priorities were to improve programs and facilities, and it did just that.

"We have a strategic plan moving forward to add more programs, to build capacity for children and families here in the Permian Basin," explained Hogan, "And we launched an 11 million dollar capital campaign to rebuild and refurbish our entire campus and some of the buildings that are here."

The money? All of it was raised in just 6 months.

"The community, and foundations and individuals in the Permian Basin were just amazing," stated Hogan.

However, she says its work has just begun.

Hogan stated 2018 was a success, "not just with the services and programs that we continue to offer children and families, but the internal and external look at you know who we are and where we want to be for the next 50 years."
