Retired nurse from Kermit making creative face masks

KERMIT, Texas (Big 2/FOX 24) – A retired nurse from Kermit is doing her part to help. She’s also getting creative in the process.

Bebe Lopez has been making face masks. So far, she’s made more than 200. Many of them donated to a clinic in Odessa.

She says they take about 15 minutes to make, and Lopez adds a little something extra because of her background in the health profession.

“I like the little nose piece, the wire, because it conforms to the nose, and it just feels like you’ve got a better seal around it,” said Lopez.

Those face masks are also 100 percent cotton with three layers.
