ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/FOX 24) – We introduce you to another remarkable woman.  Renee Earls, an Odessa native, has quite the resume.  But more importantly, she’s known for her character and compassion.

“Renee is the energizer bunny; she doesn’t stop. She genuinely is the most selfless person I know. She’s Odessa’s biggest cheerleader.”

Monica Tschauner, Director of Discover Odessa.

“I encourage people to serve because it’s so fulfilling, and I know I get far more out of it than I put into it,” said Renee Earls, President/CEO Odessa Chamber of Commerce. “I have the opportunity as the Chamber President to work with some incredible volunteers who truly love Odessa and want to make a change.  It’s great because it takes all of us doing all we can to make our community grow and thrive.”

Her contributions to our community seem endless.

She’s served on numerous boards, including the United Way, the Medical Center Hospital Foundation, and the Odessa College Foundation, to name a few.

“Very focused on education, I know what it did for me,” said Earls. “Odessa is so fortunate to have many people who do step up and help.”

She was even named “Citizen of the Year” in 2012. Along with her achievements, she’s also a wife and mom and seems to juggle that effortlessly as well.

“I don’t think I’m remarkable; I think I’m blessed.”

“She’s all about service to people.  She walks that walk, and she encourages the rest of us.  I think just about the way she does it so selflessly, it just makes us want to step up and do the same,” said Tschauner.

Renee and her husband also own the “Odessan Magazine.”  They’ve had that for a little over 20 years.
