Odessa Police warning residents about Social Security scam

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2 News/Fox 24 News) – Law enforcement in Odessa would like to warn the public about a Social Security scam. According to Odessa Police Department, there have been several complaints about citizens receiving phone calls from 432-333-3641 (An OPD number).

The caller claims to work for the Social Security Administration and says there has been fraudulent activity with the victim’s account and then asks for their social security number.

Odessa Police Department says if someone reaches out to you claiming to work for the Social Security Administration, do not give them any of your personal information. Instead, you should contact the Office of the Inspector General at 1-800-269-0271.
