ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Dustin Fawcett stopped by the studio for another edition of MOTRAN Minute. This morning we were talking about a new project in Midland as well as the ongoing University project in Odessa.
In Midland crews are working on the intersection of Midkiff and Golf Course Road. That intersection will be closed to thru traffic for the next four to five weeks while emergency water and sewer repairs are made.
Over in Odessa, the city has been working on redoing University Boulevard. They are currently working on the first phase of the project in between Andrews Highway and Maple which will last six months. Traffic is currently limited to one lane in each direction on the north side of the road while crews work on the south side.
The second phase of the project will be redoing University between Maple and Grandview which will also take about six months. During that phase, traffic will be one lane in each direction on the south side of University while crews work on the north side.
Then contruction will move to the south side of that stretch and traffic will move to the north side for another six months. Essentially, we will see all of University from Andrews Highway to Grandview expanded and completed by around September of 2021.
