ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A new infrastructure project started this month in the basin to improve the roadway for U.S. 385 between Andrews and Odessa. This nearly 50 million dollar project is expected to take two years and be completed by the summer of 2022, according to Dustin Fawcett with MOTRAN Alliance.
Fawcett says the project is one of TXDOT’s larger undertakings but the high volume of traffic in the area called for improvements. Crews will be working along the highway, starting South of Andrews to repair potholes and repave the road all the way to Odessa.
There will be various lane closures throughout the area and speed limits may vary while construction is going on so Fawcett is asking all drivers travelling this route to be vigilant and obey flaggers.
