Local restaurant helping essential employees during Coronavirus crisis

MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A local restaurant is doing its part to help many essential employees impacted by the ongoing Coronavirus crisis.

Bubba’s 33 in Midland and Odessa will offer free burgers to health care providers and other first responders. The initiative is a collaberation between the restaurant and a local staffing agency for physicians.

“I reached out to a few of the physicians in my network and said, ‘How are you doing? Can I do anything to help?’ One of them responded back and said, ‘The hardest thing right now is just getting fresh food,’ and I thought, oh my gosh, I can help with that,” said Kelly Stegall, Beacon Medical Staffing CEO.

We’re just trying to give back to the community through providing meals to all of our first responders and also the people who work in our hospitals. Whether it’s the janitor, the nurse, or the doctor but also, we’re providing work for our employees,” said Darrin Hudkins, Bubba’s 33 Managing Partner.

As of now, the ongoing promotion will run through 8:00 pm on Sunday night.
