MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/FOX 24) – As we approach the one year anniversary of the mass shooting, many remember and reflect on that tragic day.
Cory Richardson has worked for the FBI based in Midland for 20 years. Richardson was one of the 125 FBI personnel called to help with the mass shooting.
He recalls what it was like working that weekend and has a message for West Texans.
“I’m not going to live in fear. It doesn’t mean that I’m not aware or cognizant of what’s going on around me. I think a lot of people in West Texas have that same mindset of we’re going to press forward. The resiliency of the people out here is pretty amazing,” said Cory Richardson, Supervisory Senior Resident Agent with the FBI.
Along with investigating the initial shooting, the FBI provides victim services. The services provide support for victims and their family members.
