DIGITAL EXCLUSIVE: Lacrosse in West Texas

local news

MIDLAND, Texas (YourBasin) – High school football may be over, but one basin sports club is starting their season under those Friday night lights. The Bulldog Lacrosse Club kicked off their season opener Friday night against Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the Trinity School Football field in Midland.

Head coach William Logsdon and his wife, Tammie Logsdon, started the Bulldog Lacrosse Club just five years ago. Logsdon says since the club started, it has taken off.

The Bulldog Lacrosse Club is not exclusive to just Midland High School. The team is compiled of players from several schools in Midland. Although the players come from different schools, there is no crosstown rivalry. Head coach Logsdon says lacrosse is a team-intensive game, and the students work well with each other on the field.

The lacrosse club also gives players unique experiences while they are off the field. The team travels to various states across the country for tournaments. Head coach Logsdon says some of these players might not have those experiences otherwise.

The tournament continues Saturday at the Trinity School Football Stadium.
