Brandon Swinney’s family seeking justice

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2 / Fox 24) – Odessa Police are asking for the public’s help in solving the murder of 42 year-old Brandon Swinney. Detectives along side Odessa Crime Stoppers held a press conference on Tuesday to give an update on where they are in the murder case.

On Nov. 21st 2019, 42-year-old Brandon Swinney was shot to death outside of his home on North Dotsy Ave. in Odessa, right after getting out of his car. Over a year later there’s still no suspect in custody, but Odessa Police believe someone knows who’s responsible for this crime.

“This man that was taken away so suddenly was someone’s father, he was someone’s brother he was someone’s husband,” said Lieutenant Sherri Carruth with the Odessa Police Department.

Family members including Swinney’s wife and father attended Tuesday’s press conference, pleading with anyone who has information to help them get justice for Brandon.

“As you all prepare for both the Thanksgiving a Christmas holidays, that you give Brandon, his family, and his children the gift of justice,” said Samantha Swinney. “Someone out there knows who did this, and trust that we will never give up until justice is served.”

Odessa Crime Stoppers is also assisting in this investigation, they said anyone who reports any information on this murder case will be rewarded.

“We have up to a $20,000 cash reward for information that leads to person who did this,” said Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers. “We’ve been asking the public for help and we’ve been getting a lot of information in, we just quite haven’t got what the detectives need to get in there and close this case out.”

As for Odessa Police detectives involved with this case, they hope someone will come forward soon.

“Someone out there knows something, and we need them to call us, we implore you to call us so we can bring justice for this family.” Carruth said.
