Benefit dance for Odessa girl fighting cancer

local news

ODESSA, Texas (FOX 24) – A special benefit dance is taking place this weekend to help a little girl with cancer.

Marlee Munguia, 3-years-old, is fighting cancer.

Right now, the Odessa girl is at Cooks Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.

Those involved say it’s a fun way to make a difference.

“I wanted to do an event that would bring the community together. I have a 2-year-old little girl that has played with Marlee and we love Marlee to death,” said Crystal Wood, organizer/family friend.

“It really hits you hard and I said, sure what do you need. Odessans help Odessans,” said John Herriage, Copper Rose Building Owner.

The benefit dance will take place this Saturday in honor of Princess Marlee.

It’s happening at the Copper Rose Building in Odessa from 5:30 – 9 p.m.

Tickets are $20 each.

There will also be a silent auction and raffle.
