MIDLAND,Texas (Big 2 / Fox 24) – Food trucks are very popular here in the Basin. One food truck in Midland is aiming to serve the most authentic Mexican food to the Permian Basin.

Jose Gomez opended up Mexico on Wheels back in January. Gomez first started his business by selling tamales on Facebook. After raising enough money from selling tamales, Gomez went out and bought himself a food truck to grow his business. Gomez now serves a variety of authentic Mexican food including street tacos and tortas.

Since opening Mexico on Wheels, Gomez has been serving around 300 people every week. The most favorite part of operating a food truck for Gomez, is watching people enjoy his food.

“What I enjoy the most is their reaction from my customers that they do love the food,” Gomez said. “And what I also like about it is the people or my customers that I’m not able to satisfy, that they come with feedback so we can improve.”

Even though Gomez just opened his food truck, he hopes Mexico on Wheels will grow into a restaurant in the future.
