MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Another candidate is jumping in the race for a city council seat.

Kimberly Crisp officially announced her candidacy for the Midland City Council, district 4 seat on Tuesday afternoon just outside the Midland International Air and Space Port.

“I’m running for city council because, with every new article I read about the decisions being made by our local government, I become more irate,” Crisp said in a statement “The lack of transparency and accountability is appalling. I’ve never had any political aspirations, but I refuse to sit back and do nothing while our elected representatives continue to place political agendas over the well-being of our community.”

J. Ross Lacy is currently the councilman for district 4.

Crisp holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from UTPB and serves as a counselor at a private practice. You can find more information on her website, crispforcouncil.com
