It was another quiet day at this Big Spring home until tragedy struck. Theron McVae’s mother Gracie and sister Leslie Leal remembering his last moments. Disappointed in how first responders handled the situation. “He was telling them I can’t breath no more. I can’t breath no more. Then they sat there for 15 minutes and they kept telling me to get back! Get back!” says Gracie Leal.
Police say that Mcvae’s older brother Gregory Leal raised a gun and shot him. However, the family says it was all an accident. “They loved each other. Junior would come during lunch and see Gregory all the time. They loved each other. It was an accident. I don’t want people to think he did it on purpose that was an accident,” says Gracie Leal.
The family venting their frustration while trying to bury one son and clearing the reputation of another. “You put that out there and now everybody sees that. He’s already going through it. Imagine how he’s going to be now,” says Leslie Leal.
