Eddie Flores joined the KMID-TV Big 2 News Team as a Main News Anchor in July. He now Co-Anchors the 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm weekday newscasts with Katie Orth.
Before coming to Big 2,- Eddie was the Main News Anchor at KGBT in the Rio Grande Valley for more than 2 years. Prior to that, Eddie was a News Anchor/Reporter at KRGV in the RGV for 12 years, where he received two Edward R. Murrow Awards for Best Investigative Report and Best News Series.
Eddie was also a News Reporter for almost 5 years at KEYE in Austin, and worked as both a Sports Anchor and News Reporter at KRIS in Corpus Christi in the late 90’s.
But Eddie began his career as a Weekend Sports Anchor at KYMA in Yuma, Arizona, KIMID in Midland, and KAVU in Victoria.
Eddie also played one year of college football as a Wide Receiver at Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, (now the University of Texas Lutheran).
He also served one military tour in the United States Marine Corps where he continued his college education at the University of Maryland (Iwakuni, Japan Branch) and Arizona Western. Eddie also competed as an amatuer fighter in the Marine Corps as part of the All West Pacific Boxing Team.
