Kayler joined the KMID team in June of 2022 as the Sports Director.
Kayler was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from the distinguished University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2022 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minors in Spanish and Political Science.
She spent the past two years as a sports reporter, anchor and producer in Columbia, Missouri. In her time there, she covered everything from 1A high school football, to Mizzou football’s bowl game, to the NCAA Softball Super Regional. Her favorite sports to cover are football and softball. She is also a member of the Association for Women in Sports Media. Her favorite part about being a sports journalist is connecting with the players, coaches and families in the community as they rally around their favorite team.
Kayler considers herself a country girl at heart and has dreamt of living in Texas for years, and is thrilled to be a part of the Permian Basin community. She hopes to reflect the same passion that West Texas fans have for their sports in her coverage.
Born into a big midwestern family, Kayler loves spending time outdoors playing games and sports with family and friends, especially cornhole. She will be rooting for her hometown KC Chiefs and Royals from afar, but is excited to bring her passion for sports to West Texas. She loves Mexican food and finding the good local hangout spot and she welcomes any and all recommendations.
