Wink Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Andy Hrncir Stepping Down

WINK, Texas - (Local 2/FOX 24) - Wink Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Andy Hrncir confirms to Local 2/FOX 24, he is stepping down as head man for the Wildcats.

This news was first reported by the Odessa American.

He tells us he's taking an assistant coaching job at Needville, a 4A school outside the Houston area, to be closer to family.

With Hrncir leaving Wink, that also means District 5-2A 1st team QB Kenny Hrncir, the coach's son, is also leaving the Wildcats.

You'll remember just last week, Wink hired former Van Horn Head Coach Brian Gibson as an assistant coach.

It remains to be seen if Gibson will take over as the Head Coach at Wink now that Hrncir is leaving.
