Stanton Coaching Search Narrowed to Six Finalists

STANTON, TX (Local 2/Fox 24) - The Stanton Buffaloes are still looking for a new head football coach and athletic director.

According to superintendent Merl Brandon, the district had 92 applicants for its head coaching vacancy. Since then, officials narrowed the pool to six finalists and conducted interviews with each.

The school district hopes to have a favorite for the job picked out sometime next week.

Former Stanton coach John Peterson resigned in January after coaching the Buffaloes for nine seasons finishing with a 38-56 overall record.
