Odessa College Names New Men's Basketball Coach

ODESSA, TX (Local 2/Fox 24) - Odessa College named a new men's basketball coach Wednesday.

According to a media release by the University, the Wranglers will welcome Kris Baumann to town as the new hoops coach. Baumann comes to Odessa from El Paso where he served as an assistant coach at Texas - El Paso. He served as the head coach at Trinity Valley Community College for four seasons before that. 

At Trinity Valley, his teams reached three consecutive national tournaments and won three conference championships. Baumann earned Region XIV Coach of the Year in 2016.

Baumann is a native of New Plymouth, Idaho and has 13 years of head coaching experience at the junior college level.
