Two Arrested in Shooting Investigation

ODESSA, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred over the weekend in Odessa. 

Police say they have arrested Joey Maldonado and Steve Douglas charging them both with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 

The investigation began around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of 12th and Alleghaney. 

Police were called to the area about a disturbance. 

At the scene, officers learned that Steve Douglas, Joseph Douglas and Joey Maldonado were all involved in a disturbance with 30-year-old Aldo Luna, according to a release. 

While investigating, police learned that Steve and Joseph Douglas displayed weapons and told Maldonado to kill Luna, according to police. 

Police say Maldonado then pulled out a weapon and began shooting at Luna striking him in the hear. 

Luna then fled while Steve and Joseph Douglas reportedly chased him. 

The victim sustained only minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital, according to police. 

Now police are searching for Joseph Douglas in connection with the case.
