UPDATE: Chancellor Arrested During Prostitution Sting

MIDLAND, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - ECISD having to make some personnel adjustments after the arrest of an employee from an undercover sting by the Midland Police Department. "It's disappointing when we have a student, employee, anyone who runs into a situation like this. We would rather be able to strictly talk about the good news things that happen and not things like this," says Mike Adkins with ECISD.  
 
One parent of a Permian student who wished to remain anonymous confident in ECISD's decision making. "I'm sure if he got caught doing what it says he did they'll probably get rid of him and they wouldn't have our kids around him anymore," says the parent.  
 
Carl Chancellor charged with felony manufacturing delivery of a controlled substance. ECISD placing the teacher and women's head cross country and track and field coach on paid administrative leave while appointing interim coaches to take over in his absence. They will now let MPD complete an investigation and use the information obtained to complete an internal review of their own. "It has to be done by an action of the school board. So it's not just something you make up your mind in one day. There is a specific timeline that goes along with it," says Adkins.

Officials with the Midland Police Department have release further details regarding the arrest of Permian teacher and track coach Carl Chancellor. 

MPD officials say Chancellor was arrested during a prostitution sting where men were soliciting sex from women online. 

Furthermore, officials say the manufacture, deliver of a controlled substance charge against Chancellor was in relation to morphine pills

According to a release from Ector County ISD, a Permian High School teacher and coach has been arrested and is facing a felony charge. 

District officials say Carl Chancellor was arrested overnight by Midland Police and charged with manufacture, delivery of a controlled substance and solicitation. 

"It is always disappointing to hear news like this about one of our employees. Permian High School has made arrangements for assistant coaches to take over the girls track & field team as interim coaches, and the school will be meeting with the student-athletes and their families to answer any questions and concerns," a statement from the district reads. 

According to the districts website, Chancellor was a health teacher as well as the girls track and field coach. 

Officials say Chancellor will be placed on administrative leave as the investigation is completed.
