ODESSA, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - A 21-year-old man is facing charges after Odessa Police officials say he threw a beer bottle near a police car and drove away from officers.
Around 2:13 a.m. Monday morning, an OPD officer was at a stop light in a marked police car when someone in a Ford stropped.
Police officials say the driver of the Ford then threw a beer bottle out of his window which landed near the police car.
The officer tried to stop the man's car however, police say he drove away and refused to stop.
Eventually, in the area of 8th Street and Ryan, the driver got out of the car and ran away from the officers on foot, according to a release from the OPD.
The suspect, later identified as Alex Reyna, was later found hiding in someone's backyard in the 1700 block of E. 10th Street.
But the chase didn't end there.
Reyna reportedly fled again on foot but was captured about two blocks away.
Police arrested Reyna charging him with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and evading arrest or detention.
